    Abstract
Populism has been much-discussed recently, particularly in the USA, Europe, Brazil, etc. But what of its presence in other countries such as those of the former Soviet Union? This paper discusses populism in the political landscape of Armenia. A general definition of populism is given and a conceptual framework for understanding populism is provided. Using this framework, it is argued that there are two main populist actors in Armenia, the leader of the 'velvet revolution' and now-PM Nikol Pashinyan and the right- wing businessman Gagik Tsarukyan.
