<title>ACTIVITIES ON THE NUCLEAR DATA MEASUREMENT AT THE POHANG NEUTRON FACILITY BASED ON ELECTRON LINAC</title>
<link>https://repository.auw.edu.bd/handle/123456789/945</link>
<description>ACTIVITIES ON THE NUCLEAR DATA MEASUREMENT AT THE POHANG NEUTRON FACILITY BASED ON ELECTRON LINAC
Meaze, AKM Moinul Haque
We report the present status of the Pohang Neutron&#13;
Facility which consists of an electron linear accelerator, a&#13;
water-cooled Ta target, and a 12-m time-of-flight path.&#13;
We measured the neutron total cross-sections in the&#13;
neutron energy range from 0.1 eV to few hundreds eV by&#13;
using the neutron time-of-flight method. A 6&#13;
LiZnS(Ag)&#13;
glass scintillator was used as a neutron detector. The&#13;
neutron flight path from the water-cooled Ta target to the&#13;
neutron detector was 12.1 m. The background level was&#13;
determined by using notch-filters of Co, In, Ta, and Cd&#13;
sheets. In order to reduce the gamma rays from&#13;
bremsstrahlung and those from neutron capture, we&#13;
employed a neutron-gamma separation system based on&#13;
their different pulse shapes. The present measurements of&#13;
Ta, Hf, Ag, and Mo samples are in general agreement&#13;
with the evaluated data in ENDF/B-VI.

<description>Evaluations of Resonance P aluations of Resonance Parameters and Resonance Integr ameters and Resonance Integral of Tungsten
Meaze, AKM Moinul Haque
I present evaluated values of resonance parameters and resonance integral for natural tungsten on&#13;
the basis of experimental transmissions data obtained at the Pohang Neutron Facility (PNF), Republic&#13;
of Korea. Resonance parameters were obtained by using the Bayesian code SAMMY. The output values&#13;
of SAMMY were used to evaluate the resonance integral for the capture cross-section.

<title>Neutron total cross-sections and resonance parameters of Mo and Ta</title>

<description>Neutron total cross-sections and resonance parameters of Mo and Ta
Meaze, AKM Moinul Haque
Experimental results of transmissions for the samples of natural molybde-&#13;
num with thickness 0.0192 atoms/barn and for the four samples of natural tantalum&#13;
&#13;
with thickness 0.0222, 0.0111, 0.0055 and 0.0025 atoms/barn are presented in this work.&#13;
Measurements were carried out at the Pohang Neutron Facility which consists of a 100&#13;
MeV Linac, water-cooled tantalum target, and 12 m flight path length. Effective total&#13;
cross-sections were extracted from the transmission data, and resonance parameters were&#13;
obtained by using the code SAMMY. The present measurements were compared with&#13;
other measurements and with the evaluated nuclear data file ENDF/B-VI.8.
