<description>Analyzing the Case Study of Black-Necked Cranes in Achieving the Four Pillars of GNH (Gross National Happiness)
Dolkar, Choki; Bidha, Kinley; Yangden, Kinzang
Gross National Happiness, commonly known as GNH is a concept that is deeply rooted amongst&#13;
the lives of most of the Bhutanese people. Its division into four pillars make it more diverse and&#13;
relatable to the lives of the Bhutanese people. This relatable aspect of GNH is similar to the&#13;
influence that the black-necked cranes, locally known as thrung thrung karmo, have on the lives&#13;
of the Gangtey and Phobji community. Thus, the objective of this research project was to link the&#13;
four pillars of GNH with black-necked cranes through the perception of the people in Gangtey&#13;
and Phobji. For this, participants were asked for their perception on questions inhering aspects of&#13;
black-necked crane and GNH. For simplicity, the concept of GNH was categorized into four&#13;
respective pillars and people were asked questions from those sets. This report, therefore, is a&#13;
compilation of people’s perspective on the relation between GNH and the black-necked cranes.&#13;
A series of methodology such as focus group discussions and one on one interviews were used

Debnath, Anisha
Background:This project is part of the second year undergraduate summer research project at Asian University for Women. The aim of this summer project is to undertake a point prevalence survey on Hospital Acquired Infections in selected wards in Chittagong Medical College Hospital. The study will also acknowledge the burden of additional financial costs on the patient and the hospital management in treating both secondary infections and the primary illness.&#13;
Method: A descriptive study was conducted in Chittagong Medical College Hospital for four months (July to October 2017). A patient’s chart was used to access the patient's case history, diagnosis, lab reports, and antibiotic usage information. In addition to that, swab samples were collected from selected bed handles, walls, bathrooms and floors for isolation and identification in the AUW microbiology labs.&#13;
Results: Out of 416 patients, HAI was found in 18% patients; 25% among patients in the Gynaecology ward and 6% among patients in the Surgery ward. Among the causes of the infection the following were found to be the major ones: Wound infection, Urinary Tract infection, Surgical site infection, Gastrointestinal Infection, and Skin and soft tissue infection. &#13;
Utilization of findings: Data from this research serves as a basis for health authorities and policymakers to discuss and determine policies about infection control and additional studies which can measure the burdens of HAIs with greater accuracy. The findings can be used to get a pattern of HAIs and design suitable prevention methods.

<title>Relationship beyond classroom: Impact of facebook in faculty-student relationship of Chittagong</title>
<link>https://repository.auw.edu.bd/handle/123456789/76</link>
<description>Relationship beyond classroom: Impact of facebook in faculty-student relationship of Chittagong
This study focuses on the faculty-student relationship of Chittagong. Students and faculties always interacted with each other at both inside classrooms and outside through mail &amp; office hours. Social networking sites like facebook have given a new scope of how they interact. The problem investigated in this research was most of the students’ blame that faculties discriminate among students based on the student’s facebook profile. Faculties blame facebook to create false expectations in the classroom behavior. The students also say that facebook communication can create mistrust among faculty and student as well. The prime objective of this research was to verify this common belief by comparing the answers of faculty &amp; students of universities of chittagong . This research is significant to find out how this interaction is affecting both of them. Being students of an international university in chittagong gives us the credibility to conduct the research. This paper argues that that faculty should not connect any current student on facebook because it can create mistrust, biases and discrimination between faculty and students however; they can connect a student in facebook, when the student is no longer taking class from the professor because at that time there remains no such risk. In order to verify the argument, this study employed both qualitative and descriptive method of data collection to measure the relationship of between the independent variable facebook and dependent variable faculty-student relationship. Both primary and secondary tools of data collection are used in this research. One on one interviews are used as primary sources to collect data. For secondary data books, journals, reports, newspaper and other relevant document has been studied and analyzed to compare the recent result with previous studies. Some secondary case studies have also been analyzed to understand the phenomenon. As there are some set boundaries, rules and regulations for four of us as students to approach towards faculties, our wordings during the interviews were flexible. This made the data collection process difficult as well, because direct questions regarding their biasness towards students could not be asked. We rephrased the wordings based on the faculty to make sure that we don’t harm them with inappropriate word choice. This paper explains how facebook use affects faculty student relationship. The result suggested that connecting the students who are enrolled in class creates trust issues, discrimination and false expectation in Chittagong. However, connecting to graduated students open the platform to have stronger relationship.
